Installing Process

Installing Inspectlet is a simple three steps process. We have covered all the installation details in the steps below for your reference and guidance. In the following manner you can integrate Inspectlet with a WordPress website:

Account

The first task in the first step is to open an Inspectlet account. The account opening option can be easily discovered once you visit Inspectlet. After the account is opened you will find an embed code. Now, copy this Inspectlet Embed Code.

Adding the Embed Code

There are two methods of inserting the embed code. One is through plugin and another one is without plugin. We will discuss both the methods:

Installing With Plugin

Search for Inspectlet WordPress plugin. Now download, install, and activate the same. After activation, go to the dashboard. Select Inspectlet from the dashboard and paste the embed code in the provided text area. Do not forget to click on the option of save changes after this operation.  

Installing Without Plugin

From the WordPress dashboard select the Appearance option and go the Editor Menu. Now inspect carefully and find the header.php of the theme. Just above the tag paste your embed code. Click update after finishing this task.

Analyze

The Inspectlet dashboard will allow you to access all your visitors’ data recordings. By clicking on the View Captures button you can access the recently recorded sessions. There is a separate option titled View Heatmaps which enables viewing the Heatmap data.

This method of installation remains the same for premium WordPress themes and completely free WordPress themes.

Session Recordings

All the session recording along with information like referrer, session length, screen size, and starting page can be found on the session recording section.
